The block party will extend through three neighborhoods; Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and Bedford Stuyvesant. The concept of Future Africa Now celebrate African nations independence from colonialism.

 

 

A day long event you will have the opportunity to experience with family, friends and community!

Main stage                                          Welcomes steady entertainment; DJs, live bands with singers, and drumming troupes

 

African Township                            Booths where each African nation will celebrate it’s Golden Jubilee, featuring culinary and educational                                                                     materials.

Spirit of Africa Awards              The 2010 Spirit of Africa Awards will take place during FUTURE AFRICA NOW

Film Screening                   FUTURE AFRICA NOW is teaming up with the 11th Annual African Film Fesitval in New York for their                                                               summer outdoor series *Cinema under the Stars” to screen the critically acclaimed 2008 feature film “Sex, Okra                                                     and Salted Butter” by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun of Chad.
